The Facilitating Racial Equity Collaborative recognizes that the indigenous peoples of Turtle Island (“North America”) are the rightful occupants of this land.   Therefore, we feel indigenous people should have registration fees waived for the Overcoming Racism conference.

We invite indigenous folks to register as indicated above, so that adequate food and seating is available. Because of constraints of the on-line registration system, you will need to indicate payment by check, but then will not be expected to pay.  Or you may register by contacting Margery Otto at
motto@asdic-circle.org or 952-334-3149. If anyone wishes to pay regardless, contributions to the support of the conference are always appreciated.

Doors to the Auditorium will not be open during the ceremony, and we will be asking everyone in the hall outside to be quiet and respectful of the ceremony inside. Also we request no photography during the opening ceremony.

Help Us Be GREEN
If you use a personal coffee or water container, please bring it for hot and cold drinks at the conference.  Also, if you have a personal nametag, please bring and use that, too, although blanks will be available.

Directions and Parking The conference will be held at William Mitchell College of Law, 875 Summit Avenue, Saint Paul 55105. Directions to the campus can be found at http://www.wmitchell.edu/about/directions.html
Please note that William Mitchell’s main parking lot, at Victoria and Snelling, is not available for conference parking as it is being used by students. However, there is parking on surrounding streets and at William Mitchell’s Grotto Street overflow lot. The Grotto Street lot is located three blocks east of the William Mitchell campus, on the southwest corner of the intersection of Summit Avenue and Grotto.  It can be entered from both Summit and Grotto.  Plan five to ten minutes for your walk to the campus and fifteen more minutes for registration. Handicapped parking: There are six handicapped spaces in the main lot that may be used, if available (they are also used by students), by those with handicapped stickers.
Enter through the center door of the older “1931” building. This building sits along the north side of the parking lot, facing Summit.
The center door is entered from the main parking lot.  After entering the center door, go up one floor to the auditorium; there is an elevator just inside the center door.  A map of the 1931 building can be found http://www.wmitchell.edu/about/campus.html. We are most grateful to William Mitchell for providing such a wonderful site for this conference!
Taping and Broadcast
SPNN will be taping the keynote speeches and the plenary panel. If it is important to you that your image not be included in this taping, please sit toward the rear of the auditorium. One set of workshop presenters is arranging for their presentation to be taped by a student. None of the other workshop sessions during the conference will be taped or broadcast.

We very much look forward to being with you in the work this weekend. Thank you for your commitment to be part of our effort to grow and learn together!
